  7. StorageCenter is a complete storage management software solution engineered
  8. for the open systems computing environment.  StorageCenter integrates four
  9. specific modules:  Backup and Restore, Hierarchical Storage Manager, Media
  10. Manager, and Remote Administrator.  The Backup and Restore module enables a
  11. user or system administrator to back up and restore files, groups of files,
  12. directories, or file systems from any machine on the network to any other
  13. machine or storage device on the network.  Standard backup formats for each
  14. operating environment may be maintained (e.g., cpio, tar, or VMS BACKUP) at
  15. the operator's discretion.  StorageCenter is now available with a new
  16. Graphical User Interface (GUI) which allows point-and-click access to backup
  17. and restore criteria, and storage-device management.  StorageCenter allows the
  18. user to:  Schedule automatic backups for any day, date or time; perform manual
  19. or automatic backups from any workstation on the network, local or remote;
  20. specify multiple backups methods (full, selective, or incremental); use
  21. built-in media management features to make sure automatic backups are
  22. completed within existing media constraints; take advantage of automatic data
  23. sizing to get maximum value from all storage media; and employ a wide range of
  24. storage media, including magnetic disk, QIC tape, optical disk, cartridge, 8mm
  25. tape, digital audio tape, and hard disk.
